In February 2026, over 400 Chinese volunteers traveled far from home to serve at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
To help them brave the freezing weather and bridge the gap in local support, 2518 Design Studio partnered with Huaxia Group, Yadea Milano, Milan Store, and GuaGua Now to launch the "Volunteer Hub"—an initiative dedicated to providing warm, on-the-ground care and essential services.
Our mission was to bring warmth to these dedicated individuals working in -20°C conditions. More than just a rest stop, the Hub was designed as a welcoming sanctuary—a place to melt away the chill and fatigue, offering a true "home away from home."

At the heart of our design is the concept of the "37°C Snowflake." We envisioned each volunteer as a single snowflake—not icy or freezing, but radiating the 37°C warmth of human body temperature. It is through their collective dedication that everyone, both inside and outside the venues, could truly feel the human warmth of the Winter Games.
Inside the Hub, we curated a variety of interactive zones, including a message wall, a snowflake signature wall, a live-screening area, a pin-trading corner, and—most importantly—an exclusive Volunteer Care Station. Generously backed by local Chinese-owned businesses in Milan, this station provided volunteers with care packages filled with familiar snacks, dining vouchers, and Team China mascots, reminding them that their community had their back, even miles from home.
The initiative received widespread acclaim from the volunteer community and garnered extensive coverage from both domestic and international media outlets, including Migu Sports and Xiaoxiang Morning Herald.
